Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the compact crossover from the Indo-Japanese automaker, topped the sales chart in February 2025. The model registered total sales of 21,461 units against 14,168 units during the same month last year, accounting a YoY growth of 51 percent. Interestingly, the Maruti Fronx dethroned the Hyundai Creta as India’s top-selling SUV, which recorded sales of 16,317 units. In fact, it outperformed popular models like the Maruti WagonR, Swift and Baleno hatchbacks as well as the Brezza, Nexon and Punch compact SUVs.
Value-For-Money Proposition:
Launched in April 2023, the Maruti Fronx offers a good value-for-money proposition, especially with the non-turbo petrol engine. The 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine is available across three trims – Sigma, Delta and Delta+, with prices ranging from Rs 7.52 lakh to Rs 9.44 lakh (all-ex-showroom). The standard feature kit of the Fronx incldues a dual-tone interior, automatic climate control, powered windows, tilt adjustment front steering, 60:40 rear seat split, fabric seat upholstery, keyless entry and go, dual airbags, hill hold assist, reverse parking sensors, rear defogger and ESP.

Right from the Delta trim, you get a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, voice assistant features, 4-speaker sound system, OTA updates, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and steering mounted controls. Buyers can upgrade the Fronx with the 16-inch alloy wheels and automatic LED headlamps with DRLs by opting Delta+ variants.
Features such as height adjustable driver’s seat, Suzuki connected car features, wireless phone charger, rear AC vents, leather wrapped steering wheel, HUD, a 360 degree camera, cruise control, dual-tone colours and 16-inch diamond cut alloys are reserved for the higher Zeta and Alpha trims.
High Fuel Efficiency:
For Indian buyers, it isn’t just budget but the fuel efficiency that plays a crucial role in car purchases. Maruti Suzuki claims that the compact crossover with the 1.2L petrol manual, 1.0L turbo petrol manual and CNG fuel options delivers a mileage of 21.79kmpl, 21.5kmpl and 28kg/kg, respectively.
SUV-ish Design:
The Fronx has a coupe-like sloping roofline with a high ground clearance (190mm) and massive body cladding, appealing target buyers. Styling bits such as LED DRLs, 16-inch alloys and connected LED taillights further enhance its overall looks.
